The String Academy of Chicago is dedicated to providing the highest level of music education for students of all ages who wish to study the violin, viola, cello, guitar, or piano. The curriculum includes private lessons, chamber music, recitals and other performance opportunities. Instruction is based upon the methods and philosophies of Mimi Zwieg, Paul Rolland and Shinichi Suzuki.
The special training experience from our expert teachers allows our students to develop excellent technique based on natural balance of movements free from tension. It is our goal to provide our students with the necessary tools to explore their unlimited potential to excel in music. The curriculum used is individualized in order to provide each student with the best musical fit. Students are encouraged to pursue excellence in all musical genres including solo, orchestral and chamber music.
“The first years of music instruction are the most important, for they set the stage for everything that follows. Whether a child develops into a professional musician or an amateur, the skills of concentration, joy and love for music will remain forever.” Zwieg
